Torres lives mainly around tourism to its beautiful natural landscape and its bathing beaches favor. This tourist vocation, as already alluded to, was intuited in the early twentieth century by Joseph Picoral the first to envision the city as an attractive resort for the inhabitants of the state, especially in Porto Alegre, offering a basic hotel infrastructure . From his initiative, Torres soon had become a fashionable resort for riograndenses, such fame and still persists today.
