A breeding ground with mostly herons, for example the Agami heron (Agamia agami – Chestnut-bellied heron), the Black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) and the Boat-billed heron (Cochlearius cochlearius) seen in Los Llanos Colombia.
Los Llanos is a vast tropical grassland plain situated to the east of the Andes in Colombia and Venezuela. The nearest big city in the Colombian part we visited is Yopal.
